Hello
My name is Marilyn Shen and I am the founder of Kodo. I am a human-centered designer with over 20 years of experience designing and building environments that cultivate community and connect people, place and purpose. With a specific focus on client services, I have partnered with leadership teams on leveraging spaces as catalysts for advancing both organizational performance and social responsibility.
My Story
I am a believer in the power of story telling. As a designer, I have worked with many different types of organizations to share their stories within their built environment. Stories are dynamic. They change and develop over time and can be told in more ways than one. Stories are impactful. They connect people and inspire new ideas. A well designed space tells a dynamic and impactful story that is personal and engaging.
I launched Kodo to share a part of my story and what I have learned in my design journey. My vision for Kodo is to collaborate with those who have stories to share and to offer services that focus on developing strategies to align or re-align space planning and design in order to fully embrace culture, diversity, inclusion, social responsibility and the overall well-being of people.
